Over the past couple of days, the sports world merged with the political world for a moment highlighting President Donald Trump’s dominant electoral victory earlier this month.
A dance made popular by President Trump at his rallies was brought out by athletes in all fields to celebrate big moments in their respective games as well as to celebrate the revival of this great country after years of living under the failed presidency of Joe Biden. (Or Kamala Harris, whoever runs the ship)
Starting Saturday night at UFC 309, President Trump made a grand entrance to raucous cheers from an adoring crowd with an entourage including RFK Jr, Tulsi Gabbard, Elon Musk, Speaker Mike Johnson, Donald Trump Jr, and Kid Rock.
Throughout the card, most of the winning fighters hopped the cage to speak to President Trump or did his trademark YMCA dance in celebration. In the main card bout after Jon Jones’ decisive title victory over Stipe Miocic, Jones celebrated with Trump allowing him to pose with his heavyweight champion belt before giving shout-outs to Trump and starting “USA” chants in his post-fight speech.
Then on Sunday things ratcheted up a notch with numerous NFL players celebrating touchdowns or big plays with the now infamous YMCA dance. The players include Calvin Ridley, Brock Bowers, Nick Bosa, and Za’Darius Smith all celebrating big plays by doing the iconic dance.
Bowers talked to media members after the game regarding the celebration saying, “I’ve seen everyone do it. I watched the UFC fight last night and Jon Jones did it. I like watching UFC so I saw it, and thought it was cool.”
Also Sunday, British golfer and social media influencer Charlie Hull performed the dance while walking down the fairway at the Pelican Golf Club in Florida during the tournament.
And finally on Monday when the USMNT took on Jamaica in the CONCACAF Nations League Quarterfinal, Christian Pulisic a.k.a Captain America celebrated a decisive goal by doing the dance in front of a joyous crowd.
Ironically enough, backlash from the liberal media poured in after seeing the landslide election rubbed in their faces. The same people who cried for “free speech” to allow athletes like Colin Kaepernick and LeBron James to spread hateful and untrue messages designed to indoctrinate the public are now switching their cries to say athletes should be muzzled.
This goes to show liberal commentators and their PR firm, the mainstream news media, clearly only care about the right to free speech when applied to their surrogates that spread messaging designed to tear down this great country.
All I have to say to them is cry more Libs. MAGA is here to stay.
