Best Bets For Week 12 Of College Football

Best Bets For Week 12 Of College Football

For those who followed our picks last week, congratulations on a successful weekend. Let's start this week with a shout-out to last week's upset of the week which we predicted, GO REBS!

We’re rolling into this weekend’s picks and bringing back our guest pick specialist Bo Hines as our guest pickers are on a 4 game-win streak. Win some beer and pizza money this weekend and tail our picks!

  1. Texas (-12) vs. Arkansas

We’ll kick the week off tailing a heavyweight. Texas is probably the best team in the country right now. If you look at Arkansas’s season you’ll see they either stay in one-possession games or get absolutely blown out including in their last game against Ole Miss losing 63-31. I expect Texas to waltz into Fayetteville and demolish the Razorbacks.

Best Bet: Texas -12

  1. Pittsburgh (+11.5) vs. Clemson

I'll be the first to admit I have a lot of Pitt bias. They were my pick to win the ACC and I truly think they have the capability to make a playoff run. On the other hand, some days Clemson looks like the Clemson of old, and on others they look like a program tanked by the inability to use the transfer portal. We’ll see which Clemson team shows up on Saturday but with a two-score spread, I think taking Pitt is a safe play.

Best Bet: Pitt +11.5

  1. Illinois (-3) vs. Michigan State

Illinois is another team I loved a couple of weeks ago before they seemingly forgot how to play competent football. However, I’ve been against Michigan State since week one when they looked terrible against a bad FAU team. On paper, Illinois blows Michigan State out of the water so I feel comfortable in a home revival for the Illini.

Best Bet: Illinois -3

  1. Oregon State (-3) vs. Air Force

Another battle of two bad teams, Oregon State looks to break a 4 game-losing streak against Air Force this weekend. Air Force is also reeling currently possessing a 2-7 record on the year. This game has all the markings of a crap-fest with horrible offense all game. I expect this game to come down to the better defense late in the game and again on paper, this is a matchup Oregon State easily wins over the limited talent of Air Force. The push at -3 is definitely in play for this matchup but I just find it hard to believe Air Force pulls this out.

Best Bet: Oregon State -3

  1. James Madison (-3) vs. Old Dominion

In a battle of mid-majors, the Dukes look to clinch a bowl with a win over Old Dominion this weekend. I'll admit I'm kind of shocked by this low spread and again maybe Vegas knows something the public doesn't. While this ODU team is better than their 4-5 record suggests they are taking on this historically great program with a team chock full of Power 4 drop-downs. I'm on the Dukes to clinch a bowl this weekend and handle this ODU squad with ease.

Best Bet: James Madison -3

  1. BYU (-2.5) vs. Kansas

BYU has carried the series for this season so far so we're back for more. I’ll never wrap my head around Vegas handicapping BYU games at less than 3 points for weeks on end now. Complete disrespect for my Mormon squad. Kansas came into this season with a lot of hype with the elite athletes on their offense. However, this season has been an absolute disappointment for the Jayhawks who looked to continue last season's success into this year. That hasn't happened and the Jayhawks have been reduced to just a fun team to play with on NCAA CFB25. This is a season of destiny for BYU and I'm riding with them all the way.

Best Bet: BYU -2.5

Celebrity Pick Of The Week

Tennessee (+10) vs. Georgia

Georgia is reeling coming off of a blowout against Ole Miss. The Carson Beck girlfriend curse is real. He has gone from a potential #1 overall pick to the butt of all jokes in the state of Georgia. This simply isn't your Georgia team of old. They’re lackluster on offense and unproven on defense having to replace all those draft picks that have left Athens in recent years. Tennessee looked like the best team in college football through three weeks but has fallen off dramatically since that hot start. That still won’t dissuade me from taking the Vols though. In a matchup of teams falling off, I'm riding with the Vols covering a two-score spread.

Best Bet: Tennessee +10
