Best Bets for Week 4 of College Football

Best Bets for Week 4 of College Football

Week 3 of College Football was full of twists and turns, affecting the boys' picks. Going into Week 4, we’re still a respectable 13-9,  up four units. This week promises some easy picks so let’s dive into our best bets for Week 4.

  1. Tulane (-1.5) vs. Louisiana

I'll die on the hill that claims Tulane is a good football team, way better than their 1-2 record suggests. Injuries have slowed the Green Wave in some tough early season matchups whereas, on the other hand, Louisiana has not been tested by a FBS team yet. I like Tulane with a close spread to win easily against the Ragin’ Cajuns.

Best Bet: Tulane -1.5

  1. Jacksonville State vs. Southern Miss O60.5

I'll admit to missing badly on this Jax State team. I expected them to be a very good Group of 5 squad laden with Power 4 transfers. Through three games this year they are 0-3. Yeah, bad miss. However, the one thing I've learned from my mistake is that this team gets into high-scoring games like a fat kid loves candy. Southern Miss has a quality QB in Florida St transfer Tate Rodemaker (I bet Noles fans wish he hadn't transferred right about now) and they seem to love shootouts too. Smart play, hammer the over.

Best Bet: O60.5

  1. Penn State (-49) vs. Kent State

NUCLEAR WHALE Alert!!! For the first time in this journey, we're gonna get a little bit greedy and shoot a same game parlay out. I heard consistently before the season that Kent State was going to be the worst team in FBS. After watching Tennessee put them on a 100-point alert last weekend, it’s safe to say that prediction has come true. Here’s how we're pressing for value here. Penn State’s line is 49 while the total game over is 54.5. If Penn State wins in a blowout as expected, the margin between the two lines is too low not to hammer. Combine the two for a mega whale play this weekend.

Best Bet: Penn State -49 and O54.5

  1. USC (-4) vs. Michigan

Wasn't there a similar matchup to this game two weeks ago? And what happened to Michigan? Listen, the sooner people come to terms that this isn't your Harbaugh team of the past, the smarter you’ll get in your bets. Michigan’s offense is a dumpster fire and the pivot at QB to Alex Orji will amount to less than 100 passing yards by the Michigan offense. Guaranteed. If you need a comparison, Orji is a DJ Uiagalelei comp QB but drastically worse. That should say a lot considering how bad DJ and Florida State have been. I expect USC to come into Ann Arbor and roll the Wolverines just like Texas did two weeks ago. Come on, this one’s not hard.

Best Bet: USC -4

  1. Tennessee vs. Oklahoma O56.5

The marquee matchup of the weekend pits two of the hottest teams in College Football together for a primetime matchup. No team has been more impressive so far than the Tennesse Volunteers with their explosive offense led by Heisman candidate Nico Iamaleava. They are averaging a ridiculous 63 points per game through three games as they take on the Sooners in Norman. This game may scare bettors early with a low-scoring first quarter but have faith this game could easily produce 20+ points in less than 5 minutes. Hammer the over and enjoy the game.

Best Bet: O56.5

  1. Ole Miss (-34.5) vs. Georgia Southern

Week in and week out Ole Miss pays the bills! I told you last week, we're hammering Ole Miss spreads until they prove us wrong… and from the looks of things last week that ain’t gonna happen any time soon. The Rebels went into Wake Forest and demolished the Demon Deacons with their offense looking as potent as ever. This week against GA Southern, the line is only 34.5 points against a team that gave up 56 points to Boise State three weeks ago. Come on guys, you're making it too easy for the boys.

Best Bet: Ole Miss -34.5
