Best Bets for Week 7 of College Football

Best Bets for Week 7 of College Football

IT'S TIME!

We’ve reached the weekend and boy is there a slate of games to watch this weekend. (RIP to anyone attending a wedding on Saturday) There are top 25 matchups galore so you know what that means? It's time to expose the books. After another 3-3 outing last week, the boys are 23-18, still up 5 units on the year. I’m tired of 3-3 weekends boys so let’s run the table this week.

  1. Washington (+3) vs. Iowa

This one is a lesson learned from last week. There was no scenario in which I could've seen Washington hanging with Michigan as they did, eventually beating the Wolverines by 10 points. Comparing Iowa to Michigan is like apples and oranges so I think the Huskies will win this one pretty handily. Gimme Washington on the road.

Best Bet: Washington +3

  1. Georgia Tech (-4) vs. UNC

It's official, UNC and Mack Brown are cooked. The momentum is gone and the program looks like a dead man walking. We’ve taken UNC opponents two straight weeks now and they’ve produced for us. Look, don't overthink this. UNC is very bad this year and I don't think there's a team in college football that has momentum working against them more than the Tar Heels right now. Georgia Tech is a talented team led by QB Haynes King, in my opinion very similar to the Pitt squad that just beat the Tar Heels by 10 last week. We’re riding with the Yellow Jackets this week. Let's make it 3-0 in three weeks against UNC.

Best Bet: Georgia Tech -4

  1. BYU (-3) vs. Arizona

You gotta give credit where credit is due. BYU has been playing some darn good football against tough competition this year. Arizona came into the year with a lot of hype surrounding QB Noah Fifita and WR Tetairoa McMillan. Despite some impressive personal stats for the two, Arizona has struggled to meet the lofty team expectations so far this year. This has the makings of a great game but I'm gonna ride with the 5-0 team that has looked incredible so far this year.

Best Bet: BYU -3

  1. North Texas (-5) vs. FAU

This seems too easy to be true in my humble opinion. FAU sucks just point blank simple facts. I’ve watched two of their games this year and wanted to wash my eyes out with bleach after watching their offense perform. North Texas sports a 4-1 record this year and has a high-flying offense that’s averaging 40.8 ppg. FAU doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of keeping up with North Texas if this game turns into a shootout. I'm riding with the Mean Green in this matchup.

Best Bet: North Texas -5

  1. Ohio State (-3) vs. Oregon

The biggest matchup of the year so far in college football pits #2 Ohio State against the #3 Oregon Ducks. I've heard all the talk this week, some people think Oregon is going to demolish the Buckeyes behind a superior QB and excellent pass rushers. Others (myself included) think this Ohio State team could be one of the greatest college football teams ever assembled. Time will tell but I think the script wouldn't take Ohio State out this early in the year. I'm rolling with the Buckeyes on the road to cover the spread.

Best Bet: Ohio State -3

  1. Syracuse vs. NC State O52.5

NC State lost QB Grayson McCall last week to a scary head injury but backup CJ Bailey has proved himself to be a more than competent downfield passer through three starts. The Wolfpack welcome Syracuse this weekend, led by transfer QB Kyle McCord for a primetime matchup at home. A crazy stat I found while researching this game was that in the combined 11 games played this year by the two teams, this game's total line of 52.5 would have hit in all but one of those games. Primetime game and two high-scoring offenses. Uh yeah, hammer that over.

Best Bet: O52.5
