We’re back for Week 9 of college football bets with a great slate of games this weekend. Our Week 8 picks went 2-3 and one push with our guest pick winning easily. Bo Hines is back this week looking to make it a two-week winning streak. Let’s run the tables!
I’m very high on the Cardinals this year despite the 4-3 record. They've hung around in some tough losses to good teams and if you know anything about the Cards this year, you know they have a prolific offense. Boston College seemingly started the season strong and has faltered in recent weeks including an embarrassing loss last week to VT. I think Louisville could take this game out of hand fast. Hammer the Cardinals spread.
Best Bet: Louisville -7.5
TRAP GAME! In my opinion there's no way Notre Dame covers this spread. Everyone knows how well the service academies have been this year and if anything this game will be a close, back-and-forth game with a possibility of Navy winning. Don't overthink this, ride with the Midshipmen.
Best Bet: Navy +13.5
We're back on the Rebels bandwagon. Listen, Oklahoma has been an absolute dumpster fire on offense this year, scoring 9 points against South Carolina last week and 3 points against Texas the week before. The simple calculus I'm doing is Ole Miss has a high likelihood of scoring 28+ and I would be shocked to see Oklahoma score more than 14. Easy pick, let's go Rebs!
Best Bet: Ole Miss -20
What in the world is up with this line? This makes absolutely no sense. Just like in the Penn State/Illinois game early this year where Penn State was a 21+ favorite, there's just no way a good Illini team loses by *checks notes* FOUR touchdowns. Not happening. Oregon’s only test this year was a close win over Ohio State and that did not inspire much confidence going forward in the Ducks. Gimme the Illini to cover easily.
Best Bet: Illinois +22.5
What is going on this week??? The powers at be in Vegas must’ve had plenty to drink before making lines this weekend because this is the 3rd line now that is utterly ridiculous. I don't care if the games at UCF, this BYU team is the truth and flat-out UCF doesn't belong on the same field. We’ve already hammered two road underdogs against UCF this year. Let's make it three.
Best Bet: BYU +2.5
I don't know how MSU beat Iowa last week but I stand by my reasoning from last week's pick. Michigan State is not a good team and they've been pushed around by Group of 5 teams on multiple occasions this year. I know Michigan is going through the worst QB spell probably in the history of the program but I really don't think it matters who they trot out there Saturday. I'm siding with the more physical team to win a close game. Gimme the Wolverines to win a close game.
Best Bet: Michigan -4.5
Indiana (-5.5) vs. Washington
Indiana is the best 7-0 team in the country and with College Gameday in town, there is no way they are losing. I don't care if the starting QB is hurt and quite frankly there's no circumstance that could change my mind on this pick. Indiana is the truth. Let's go Hoosiers!
