Fantasy Football Players To Draft

Fantasy Football Players To Draft

The NFL Season kicks off in eight days and that means it’s Fantasy Football draft time. We covered who not to take in the last article, but here is your advice on who to take to win your Fantasy Football league this year.

  1. Quarterbacks: Find Value Late

  • Kyler Murray is currently ranked as QB9 and projects to be available in the later 6-10 rounds of most drafts. Murray gives owners a poor man's Jalen Hurts or Lamar Jackson, four to five rounds later than their projected draft spot. At the end of the day, the points should be negligible between the Hurts/Jackson level of B’s and Murray. I also may be bullish but I’m expecting a top-five year out of Murray.
  • Mr Irrelevant from the Bay finished last year as a top-five QB leading the most unique and high-powered offense in the NFL. Currently, Brok Purdy’s average draft spot is the last 5 rounds of the draft, sometimes even going undrafted. This is absurd, take the value and stash Purdy late in your draft.

  1. Running Backs: Grab ‘em Early

  • This year’s forecast for running backs is as unusual as I've ever seen in Fantasy Football. There are the clear-cut top guys but after that, it’s a crapshoot. My advice, grab Breece Hall or Christian McCaffrey if they drop in the first round. There are plenty of starting-caliber WRs that can be had much later than in typical drafts. I expect Breece Hall to cement himself as RB1 in the NFL by the end of the year.
  • The Dolphins have established their identity as the San Fransisco of the East Coast with Mike McDaniels employing the same revolutionary offense run by Shanahan. I love Devon Achane this year specifically because of the offense he is in. Expect lots of wide zone runs and similar usage to how the 49ers employ Christian McCaffrey. With Achane’s elite physical traits, the sky's the limit for him in this Dolphins offense.

  1. Wide Receivers: Wait and Maximize Value Late In The Draft

  • One of the players I love the most this year is DJ Moore in the mid-3rd to 5th round. With a paltry offense and rotating QBs last year, Moore still kept his production level. Now with Caleb Williams and a lethal WR core, I expect Moore to explode this year. Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze don't scare me away from this pick, in fact, I think their additions will help alleviate the double teams that Moore usually attracts.
  • If you have a late first/early second pick and you missed on the guaranteed stars, don't fret there is still hope. Garrett Wilson is projected in this range, not quite cracking the top eight players yet. However, if you look at his production with quite possibly the worst QBs in the league throughout his first three years in the NFL, it's easy to get excited to see what he can do with future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers tossing him the rock. Wilson quite possibly could be WR1 by the end of the year.

  1. Tight Ends: Get Your Guy Before The Run Starts

  • The tight ends this year are an interesting bunch to evaluate. There aren't many Kelce fans left, especially in the late first to second-round range. Let the noob of your league waste that valuable early pick. The vast majority of the tight ends with upside are clumped together in the rounds 3-7 range. Your targets should include the likes of Sam Laporta, Trey McBride, Dalton Kincaid, and Mark Andrews all of which go off the board pretty close together. My advice, monitor your league mates and grab one of these as soon as the run starts in your draft.
