New York, NY – A New York grand jury has indicted Luigi Mangione, 26, on charges of first-degree murder and terrorism in connection with the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. The high-profile indictment was announced Tuesday following weeks of investigation into the targeted attack, which occurred outside a Manhattan hotel on December 4, 2024.

Prosecutors allege that Mangione carried out a premeditated attack during an investor conference hosted by UnitedHealthcare’s parent company. Thompson was fatally shot outside the hotel in what authorities have described as a “calculated and targeted act” meant to intimidate and coerce. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg called the incident a deliberate act of terror, stating that it was a, ““frightening, well-planned, targeted murder - intended to evoke terror”

Mangione, who is an Ivy League graduate, was apprehended in Altoona, Pennsylvania, following a nationwide manhunt. During his arrest, authorities discovered a 3D-printed firearm, fake identification documents, and a handwritten manifesto expressing animosity toward the U.S. healthcare industry. Prosecutors have suggested Mangione’s motives were tied to grievances over healthcare costs and corporate practices.

Mangione remains in custody without bail and faces life in prison without parole if convicted. His next court appearance is scheduled for January, where prosecutors are expected to outline additional evidence. The case continues to draw national attention, highlighting growing concerns over targeted violence against corporate leaders.

Widespread support for Mangione and his actions has flooded the internet, especially among leftist circles. Leftists have not only fetishized Mangione’s appearance but also his cold-blooded murder. In their eyes, Thompson was not human, being a wealthy CEO of an organization they disagree with makes him deserving of having been shot in the back.
