During his time in America, Netanyahu met with Donald Trump, Joe Biden, and Kamala Harris. Harris, however, protested the Israeli prime minister's address to Congress.
Instead of attending the speech, Harris gave a speech of her own at a sorority - claiming it was “pre-planned” travel. At this time Kamala had only been running for president for a few days. Unless the Vice President knew something long ahead of time that we didn’t - that “pre-planned” travel would have had to have been scheduled after Netanyahu was slotted for his address.
Likewise, Netanyahu thanked both Joe Biden and Donald Trump, Trump seemingly more deeply than Joe Biden - but did not make even a single passing mention of the current Vice President and presumptive Democrat nominee, Kamala Harris.
Trump attacked Kamala for her meeting with Netanyahu, saying, “P.M. Netanyahu of Israel had a terrible and “insulting” meeting in D.C. with Kamala Harris, who also refused to preside over Congress during his speech, which is an obligation of the V.P.”
Harris seemed to put a sorority campaign event over a congressional session with an American allied head of state currently embroiled in the most consequential war currently ongoing. Harris also sternly suggested that Netanyahu isn’t doing enough to reduce civilian casualties - despite seemingly taking more precautions than any military ever in any war ever.
“President Biden and Vice President Harris delivered the same message in their private meetings to Prime Minister Netanyahu: it is time to get the ceasefire and hostage deal done,” an aide to the Vice President said.
Biden met with Netanyahu separately from Harris, and cameras only caught a brief remark "Welcome back, Mr. Prime Minister. We got a lot to talk about."
Former President Donald Trump also met with the Israeli prime minister for the first time since he left office in 2021. Netanyahu, not Trump, requested the meeting at the former president’s home.
Trump explained that he and Netanyahu discussed how a Jewish person could ever vote Democrat - he added that the pair concluded it to be a matter of “habit”.
