Israel Under Attack: Iran Launches Ballistic Missiles
The National Interest

According to the Israeli government, Iran has launched ballistic missiles at the Jewish state. Just hours before, the White House had announced an imminent attack on Israel from Iran.

The attack comes just after Israel marched soldiers into Lebanon for a ground attack against the terrorist organization Hezbollah which has been relentlessly attacking Israel at least since the early months of the war.

The number of IDF personnel in Lebanon is in “the low hundreds” according to officials. In the past week, the Israeli Defense Forces have struck considerable blows to Hezbollah’s internal leadership, including the elimination of their ‘chief’ Hassan Nasrallah.

The White House warned Iran that any attack on Israel would come with “severe consequences” though it is unclear what consequences those may be. The White House also claimed that they were actively working to aid Israel in their defense against the attack.

Iran claims that their missile barrage will only be directed at military targets, but that hasn’t stopped civilians from taking cover in bomb shelters across the country.

Videos circulating on X show several missiles physically touching down. Sources in Israel told Today Is America that they were notified of the incoming strike and told to shelter.

The screenshot included below was provided to Today Is America. A notification from the app “Israel Home Front Command”  warns people in Efrat, and Jerusalem to enter “protected spaces” and remain for 10 minutes or until an all clear is given.

Homes in Israel are often built with “protected spaces” or more commonly known as shelters within them to protect against frequent attacks from their neighbors.

CNBC reports however that most of the missiles were shot down by the Israeli and U.S. militaries.
