It's been a rough couple weeks for evangelicals that voted for Biden in 2020. Last week, the Friday before Easter Sunday, one of the holiest days in the Christian faith, Joe Biden made an announcement showing who his real focus is on during the holy week.
The White House tried covering it up by claiming that the day has been recognized on March 31st for multiple years now. Although that is true, Joe Biden is the first President to make a formal proclamation in support. There is a stark difference between an advocacy group recognizing the date, and the leader of the free world making a formal decree from the White House.
You would think someone on their public relations team would say “let’s chill with trying to piss off 90% by appealing to less than 1%”, but we all know the White House isn’t exactly staffed with the best and brightest at the moment. Instead of trying to remediate the previous attack towards believers, the Biden administration decided to double down and make matters for them worse.
Thursday, a Washington, D.C., jury convicted 71 year old Rebecca Lavrenz. Her crime? Praying in the Capitol during Jan 6th. The 71-year-old faces up to a year in prison and more than $200,000 in fines.
According to court documents, Lavrenz’s crimes were entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds, disorderly conduct in a restricted area, disorderly conduct in the Capitol Building, and parading, demonstrating or picketing in the Capitol.
Lavrenz said, “My own country is treating me like a criminal just because I believe that they stole my rightful president.”
Not sure what Joe Biden's team has cooking next, but make sure to be very careful the next time you pray, it might be considered hate speech in a few months.
