Mitch McConnell is the conservative version of Joe Biden… the only problem is he’s not all that conservative and oftentimes stands directly in the way of his own party's aims, collaborating with the Democrat party. McConnell has broken down multiple times, seemingly transforming into the Tin Man after he doesn’t receive enough oil on his joints.
For the past 4 years, McConnell has been one of the only sentries standing between America and economic collapse while Trump was out of office. What did sleepy Mitch do? He failed to curb government spending and waste, one of his first actions during Biden’s term was to not only vote “yes” for a bill that appropriated $50 million to Pakistan for gender studies programs but also to play a key role in advancing that bill.
That bill also sent $700 million to Sudan, for a “transition to a civilian-led government” $135 million to Myanmar for the promotion of “democracy and human rights” $435 million to Ukraine to “support democratic institutions” and $10 million to Belarus to “support democratic opposition activists.” How does money promote human rights and democracy? Your guess is as good as mine.
McConnell again voted yes to Joe Biden’s 2021 infrastructure package which allocated $47 billion to EV mandates and climate change proposals. The bill set aside $1 billion for “reconnecting communities” that focused on fixing highways that divided minority communities. It sent $10 billion abroad for “climate initiatives.” The bill was riddled with “equity” language and only 10% of its spending went towards actual roads.
He also voted yes for Biden’s CHIPS Act which destroyed American semiconductor production. The CHIPS act made provisions for “climate initiatives” and also mandated DEI in semiconductor factories. Rather than hire already trained talent and relocate them, chip producers were forced to hire minorities in their communities. This came with incredible training costs and caused several producers including Intel, Microchip Technology and the Taiwan Semiconductor manufacturing company to halt the construction of new factories in America due to an inability to keep up with diversity mandates.
McConnell also claimed that Trump “provoked” the January 6th Capitol rioters placing blame on the President. In reality, Trump not only told his supporters to “peacefully and patriotically” make their voices heard during his speech at the ellipse, he time and time again, told them to remain peaceful. He also ran his entire campaign on “law and order” contrasting his supporters with BLM rioters. It couldn’t be more obvious that Trump did NOT want violence at the Capitol.
McConnell is also weak on immigration and in 2013 went as far as to vote “YES” for a bill that would provide a pathway for citizenship to illegal immigrants whose first action entering this country was blatantly disregarding and disrespecting the laws of the United States of America, namely 8 U.S. code 1325 which makes it illegal for aliens to enter the country without permission of a border official. He has also failed to make the border a priority during his entire tenure, especially when it came to the wall.
