U.S. Embassy attacked in Lebanon

The U.S. Embassy in Beirut Lebanon has been attacked by a team of Islamic terrorists.

AP Wrote  “The Lebanese military in a statement said that soldiers shot an assailant, who they only described as a Syrian national. The gunman was wounded and taken to a hospital.”

An anonymous security official told the outlet that there were four assailants, 3 shooters, and one driver. At least one of the gunman was wearing a vest which had the words “Islamic State” in Arabic.

When the attackers opened fire on the U.S. Embassy, which is considered American soil, a half an hour long gunfight ensued.

One assailant was killed, one was reportedly injured and one escaped - remaining at large. The injured shooter has been taken into custody.

Luckily, there were no casualties within the embassy - thanks to the fast mobilization of the Lebanese military efforts to protect the embassy.

This is not the first time that an American embassy in Lebanon has been attacked. Our embassy was bombed in 1983, killing 63 people. It was bombed yet again in 1984, and then shot at in 2023.

The embassy wrote on X that an investigation is now underway, as the motive for the shooting remains not fully known - although motives may seem obvious.
